The Hub’s Night Market to awaken downtown Rushville square

RUSHVILLE — It’s almost time for a bit of late-night shopping and entertainment.

The Hub Art and Cultural Center’s annual Night Market will run from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday on the downtown square, according to Erin Eveland, executive director of The Hub.

The market portion of the evening will feature more than 20 crafters and artisans selling fine art, fiber work, handcrafted facial products, local honey and handmade signs.

One Knotty Maker, a Jacksonville-based shop owned by Jessica Lynn featuring macrame and resin items;

• Cheryl Kelly & Co., a Jacksonville-based vegan and organic skincare products vendor; 

• Theo’s Treatos, a Rushville-based maker of all-natural dog treats and pet accessories;

Noumea Hand-Dyed Yarn and Fibers, a Rushville-based yarn shop;

• Weldon Creations, a vendor using old horseshoes to create new art pieces;

Foreverwear permanent jewelry of Quincy;

Fawn Berry Apothocary, a Quincy-based herbalist;

• Bluebird Glassworks, a Warsaw-based maker of nature-themed, handmade stained glass items;

Green Fox suncatchers and natural jewelry of Quincy;

Baker Street Sweets, a Rushville-based bakery;

The Bread Basket, a Rushville-based breadmaker;

Daisy Garden Cookies of Rushville;

Drewberry Soap, a Sutter-based maker of soaps, shampoos,lotion bars and lip balms; 

Sophie’s Enchating Creations, a Carthage-based seller of custom tumblers, sippy cups, onesies and other items;

• Sparrow and the Finch polymer clay jewelry;

• Roshambo Designs at Berco Farms, selling leatherwork, jewelry and other items;

Your Local Plant Dealer, a Mount Sterling-based seller of house plants;

• Celeste’s Creations keychains and bracelets;

• author and motivational speaker Rolland Sarver, who will be selling copies of his book, “The Value Message”; and 

• Amy’s Be’You’tiful Things.

Along with vendors, the evening will feature live music by The Hub’s Ukulele Club, musician Rachel Norton, VIT band Late Start, and a performance by The Hub’s Historic Dancers.

Other activities include a chalk drawing contest, a kids’ art area, T-shirt printing and food trucks.
