Plata Latina Minerals Appoints Letitia Wong as President and CEO

Plata Latina Minerals Corporation is excited to announce the appointment of Ms. Letitia Wong as the new President and CEO, effective July 15, 2024. Ms. Wong, who has been with the company since its inception, brings with her 20 years of experience in various roles within the mining industry.

Ms. Wong’s extensive background in strategy, corporate development, capital markets, and finance will be instrumental in leading Plata Latina through its strategic review process. She will also continue to serve on the Board of Directors, ensuring a seamless transition and continuity in the company’s operations.

Previously, Ms. Wong held key positions at prominent mining companies, including Copper Mountain Mining Corporation, Brio Gold Inc., Augusta Resource Corporation, and Ventana Gold. Her expertise in corporate governance and her track record of successful strategic transactions make her a valuable addition to Plata Latina’s leadership team.

Ms. Wong holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance from the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia and is a CFA Charterholder.

Plata Latina Minerals, a Canadian exploration company, has been actively involved in exploring and evaluating mineral property assets in Mexico. While the company has sold or relinquished its interests in four Mexican mineral properties, it is currently undergoing a strategic review process to maximize the value of its clean listed shell, along with its modest cash and cash flow.

One of Plata Latina’s notable achievements was the sale of its Naranjillo Property to Fresnillo in 2020, which resulted in advance royalty payments of US $100,000. These payments will continue until either US $1,000,000 has been received or Naranjillo commences commercial production of minerals. Additionally, the company was granted a 3% net smelter return royalty.

With Ms. Wong at the helm, Plata Latina Minerals is well-positioned to navigate its strategic review process and capitalize on future opportunities. Her appointment reflects the company’s commitment to strong leadership and expertise within the mining industry.
