Paragon Geochemical Commissions PhotonAssay™ Unit at Surrey Facility, Expanding Global Reach

Britannia Life Sciences Inc. and its subsidiaries, Britannia Mining Solutions Inc. and Paragon Geochemical, have announced the commissioning of a PhotonAssay™ unit at Paragon’s newly built facility in Surrey, British Columbia. This marks Paragon’s second PhotonAssay™ unit globally, following the successful commissioning of its unit in Hamilton, Ontario earlier this year.

PhotonAssay™ is an innovative technology that offers a faster, safer, and more accurate alternative to traditional fire assay for gold, silver, and copper analysis. It has gained recognition from major mining companies like Barrick Gold, positioning it as the future benchmark for minerals analysis in the industry.

Paragon’s new lab in Surrey is strategically located along major shipping routes, providing convenient access to British Columbia’s interior, the Northwest Territories, Yukon, Alaska, and the western United States. The facility is now open and accepting samples, offering PhotonAssay™ prices comparable to fire assay and delivering industry-leading analysis turnaround times measured in days rather than weeks.

The non-destructive nature of PhotonAssay™ enables more efficient and accurate metallurgical design and process engineering by preserving samples from the early stages of exploration. This eliminates the need for additional drilling to acquire more material for testing, resulting in reduced environmental impact, increased financial benefits, and faster time-to-market.

Moreover, organizations focusing on Environment, Sustainability, and Governance (ESG) metrics can utilize PhotonAssay™ in their supply chain to demonstrate a deeper commitment to stakeholders and rights holders. By reducing hazardous waste and CO2 emissions, companies can showcase their dedication to responsible mining practices.

Paragon’s Vice President of Operations and resident nuclear chemist, Robert Oliver, expressed enthusiasm about the future of responsible mining with PhotonAssay™. He stated, “With PhotonAssay™, we’re well-positioned to help clients achieve their exploration, development, or operational goals, allowing them to strike gold in more ways than one – fast results, precise data, and a smaller environmental footprint.”

Paragon Geochemical, a subsidiary of Britannia Mining Solutions, specializes in geochemical testing and analysis for the natural resources industry. The company aims to address the global backlog in mineral assays by leveraging technology-enabled solutions. In addition to the newly commissioned unit in Surrey, Paragon operates a geochemical laboratory in Sparks, Nevada. The company has plans to deploy a total of 12 PhotonAssay™ units worldwide, with the first unit in Hamilton, Ontario already operational.

Chrysos Corporation, headquartered in Adelaide, is the provider of PhotonAssay™ technology. The company combines science and software to deliver innovative solutions to the global mining industry. PhotonAssay™ offers faster, safer, and more accurate analysis of gold, silver, copper, and other elements.
