Terry Lynn Smith: 1952 – 2024
Funeral service for Terry Smith will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 18, 2024 at Gillette Memorial Chapel 210 West 5th St. with Vicki Kissack officiating; interment to follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.
Terry Lynn Smith, 71, passed away on March 13, 2024 after a long battle with lung cancer. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Terry was born April 2, 1952 to Damon and Willamae Smith in Basin, Wyoming. He attended various elementary schools before graduating from Kelly Walsh High School in Casper in 1970. There, he met his loving Cynthia and they lived 52 years together, creating two sons.
Terry started his career in the oil fields in Wyoming and surrounding states in the 1970’s. The family moved to Gillette in 1990. He went on to Master Mechanic for Triton Coal, Antelope Coal, and finally Peabody Coal, NARM. He was known in the industry for his dedication, hard work, and passion on the job.
Terry was a devoted family man who loved to spend his free time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed camping, hunting, reloading and fishing.
His is survived by his loving wife, Cyndi; their two sons, Richard (Jennifer) of Sheridan and David of Casper; nephews: Kevin (Michelle) Stevens of Berthoud, Colorado, Kirby (Courtney) Stevens of Casper, and Todd (Linda) Nichols of Casper. Terry is also survived by nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Judy; and great-granddaughter, Tensley.

Patricia “Pat” Woessner: 1938 – 2024
In a quiet corner of Wisconsin, within the town of Hurley, a bright soul came into this world on a spring day in 1938. Patricia “Pat” Woessner breathed her last surrounded by love in Gillette. Aptly described as the heart of her family, Pat’s departure leaves an irreplaceable void felt by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Born to Leo and Elizabeth Johnson, Pat blossomed into a remarkable individual who touched countless lives through her kindness and generosity. With roots deeply entrenched in education, she pursued higher learning at the University of Chicago where she earned a Master’s degree in political science, showcasing her commitment to growth and intellectual pursuits. Pat’s true essence shone through in her everyday actions. Those closest to her will forever cherish memories of her delicious pies that comforted many and brought smiles to all. Gardening, knitting, and cooking were not merely hobbies for Pat; they were reflections of her creativity and nurturing spirit that she generously shared with loved ones.
Pat also found purpose in service to her country through the Post 42 American Legion Auxiliary. Her dedication to supporting veterans echoed her compassionate nature and unwavering sense of duty. In the gentle embrace of family present at her side, Pat peacefully bid farewell to this world on March 14, 2024.
She is survived by her children: Cathy Fugere (Patrick), Leo Woessner (Chrissi), Bill Woessner (Sarah); brother, Mike Johnson; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by those who welcomed her on the other side: parents, Leo and Elizabeth Johnson; husband, Paul Woessner; and brother, Rodney Johnson.
As we mourn the loss of an extraordinary woman whose legacy will endure through the lives she touched, let us remember Pat for the warmth she exuded, the wisdom she imparted, and the love she selflessly shared with all who crossed her path. May we find comfort in knowing that Patricia “Pat” Woessner’s memory will live on in our hearts as a beacon of light guiding us through dark times.
