Equinox Gold’s Ride to Greenstone Raises Over C$1.2 Million for Charity

Equinox Gold Corp. has successfully raised over C$1.2 million for charity through its Ride to Greenstone event. The cycling and support team embarked on an epic 3,634 km bike relay from Vancouver, BC to Geraldton, Ontario, to celebrate the official opening of the Company’s new Greenstone Mine.

The primary focus of the ride was to raise funds for the Geraldton District Hospital, which serves a 2,767-km2 region in Northern Ontario, including five Indigenous communities and the Greenstone Mine workforce. Equinox Gold’s mine sites in California, Mexico, and Brazil also participated by sending cyclists and organizing various events to raise money for charities in their local communities.

The Ride to Greenstone event received generous support from sponsors, including Sandstorm Gold Royalties, Cloutier Contracting, Franco-Nevada, Orion Resource Partners, and Equinox Gold’s Board of Directors. Each sponsor donated more than C$100,000 to the Geraldton District Hospital.

In addition to the funds raised for the hospital, the event has also generated over C$100,000 for schools and hospitals in Brazil and the Alzheimer’s Association of California.

Ross Beaty, Chair of Equinox Gold, expressed his excitement about the event, stating, ‘The Ride to Greenstone highlights our commitment to the health and well-being of our team, emphasizing physical activity, team building, and fun. Supporting community health and education is one of our top priorities as a company, and we are thrilled to see the entire Equinox Gold family coming together to raise money for the Geraldton District Hospital.’

Equinox Gold’s Ride to Greenstone has not only brought its global workforce, contractors, and suppliers together but has also showcased the company’s dedication to making a positive impact in the communities where it operates.
