Dollar to cedi exchange rate hits GHS12.30 at Forex Bureaus, GHS18.89 at BoG


The cedi exchange rate against the US dollar saw some depreciation at forex bureaus across Ghana today, Saturday, January 6, according to data from CediRates.com.

The Bank of Ghana’s interbank rate pegged the selling price at GHS18.89 to the dollar while the central bank is buying the US dollar at GHS18.87.

At licensed forex bureaus the cedi was selling around GHS12.30 per dollar.

For those conducting online transactions or transferring funds digitally via CediConvert and WeWire Africa, the platforms offered selling rates of GHS12.35 and GHS12.32 respectively.

Meanwhile, the commercial banks like Stanbic, GCB and Fidelity Bank are selling their dollars within the GHS12.00 and GHS12.15 range.

The visa rate for online purchases globally came in at GHS12.82.

Other major foreign currencies such as the pound sterling and euro are also selling at GHS15.17 and GHS13.06 on the Bank of Ghana interbank rate.
