Crews restore power after thousands of SMUD customers experience outage in Folsom

Nearly 10,000 SMUD customers lost power in Folsom on Tuesday morning, according to their outage map. Around 7:15 a.m. 9,554 customers in Folsom lost service. It is unknown what caused the outage. SMUD crews resolved the issue and power has been restored for most customers. According to the Folsom Police Department, the outage affected traffic signals in the area of East Natoma/Empire Ranch and East Bidwell/Iron Point.
