At least 27,000 customers without power across Tucson


Update 11:15 p.m.
At least 27,000 customers are without power because of Sunday evening’s monsoon storms.

According to a TEP spokesperson, they are still receiving and evaluating outage reports. They say it’s difficult to predict when the power will be back on.

“We’ll work to restore service as quickly and as safely as possible to each location,” the TEP spokesperson said in a statement.

TEP warns if you see a downed power line, don’t go near it and call 911.

Update 6:50 p.m.
Monsoon storms caused power outages across Southern Arizona, Sunday evening.

According to the Tucson Electric Power outage map, over 30,000 customers are without power.

According to the Tucson Electric Power outage map, the majority of the outages are between River Road and Speedway Boulevard.

Another 995 customers are without power near the UA Tech Park.
