Visit Helena announces $22,500 in grants

Visit Helena has announced the approval of $22,500 in grant funding to support events and programs to boost the local visitor economy.

Aimed at fostering the spirit of Helena and its small business community, the grant program underscores the critical role of the visitor economy in maintaining the health and vibrancy of Helena.

This year’s grant beneficiaries reflect the eclectic and spirited nature of Helena:

The Montana Learning Center – Beyond the Big Sky: An adventure that invites stargazers to explore the wonders of the night sky along Canyon Ferry Lake.

The Foundation for Montana History – History Tours: An engaging journey through Helena’s rich past, uncovering tales that shaped the West and Helena’s future.

Treasure State Runners -Just for the Helena of It-Half Marathon, 10k, 5k: A race that weaves through Helena’s iconic beauty, championing both health and community spirit.

Last Chance Curling Club – Creepy Sweepy Bone Spiel: A twist on an emerging Helena sport; curling. Come this fall, bring the spooky and competitive vibes to the ice as a spectator or team to celebrate a competition amongst Western communities.







There was free-rein fun Saturday at the  third annual Septemberfest Soapbox Derby in Downtown Helena. 




Point S Tire & Auto – Septemberfest Soapbox Derby: The much-anticipated fourth annual event to celebrate the community.

The funding is made possible through the Tourism Business Improvement District’s lodging assessment initiative; where a $2 fee on every hotel room night goes directly into funding programs and events that breathe life into the community.

“The Tourism Business Improvement District is proud to facilitate this cycle of growth and excitement for Helena,” Andrea Opitz, Visit Helena’s executive director, said in a news release.

CWG Architecture welcomes Moses
