SDG&E power outages affecting thousands across San Diego – NBC 7 San Diego


Thousands of SDG&E customers were without electricity Friday morning as crews worked to repair equipment and restore power.

The outages at its peak affected about 2,700 SDG&E customers. More than 1,400 customers in University Heights, North Park and Normal Heights were reported without power late Thursday night, according to the SDG&E website. Another outage was reported in the same area at 10:40 a.m., affecting another 1,300-plus customers, according to the agency’s outage map.

As of 9:40 a.m., the following areas were still without power:

University Heights/ North Park/ Normal Heights

  • Outages reported late Thursday
    • Customers Out: 1,044
    • Estimated Restoration: Feb 09 at 4:00 PM
  • Outages reported at 10:40 a.m. Friday
    • Customers Out: 1,362
    • Estimated Restoration: Feb 09 at 4:00 PM

A separate power outage in the Encinitas area affected less than 100 customers and was restored around noon.
