NV Energy: Update Power restored to more than half of 2,083 customers

Power has been restored to around 1,300 NV Energy customers but remains out to another 830, mostly in the Gardnerville Ranchos.

No cause was listed at NVenergy.com or a time when the rest of the power would be restored.

Three-dozen separate power outages have knocked out electricity to 2,083 homes and businesses in Carson Valley.

According to NVEnergy.com, most of the outages are centered in Gardnerville with 34 separate outages affecting 1,232 customers.

The first outage occurred at 3:43 p.m. with two more in the following minutes before a larger one of 195 customers. Then there are seven single customers before another big bunch at 3:53 p.m.

No cause or estimated restoration time has been listed. The Record-Courier has reached out to NV Energy for more information.

The Valley is in the midst of a red flag warning for gusty winds and low humidity.

Minden-Tahoe Airport recorded wind gusts of 28-31 mph around when the outage occurred. Relative humidity listed on the airport’s automated weather observing system was 26-27 percent.
