Letters: Louisiana sharing voter information not a good idea | Opinion

Wait a minute. You mean to tell me that the Secretary of State’s office is going to pass my personal voter registration data to Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi and Tennessee?

Really?

Texas can’t keep the lights on in a heavy dew, and Mississippi? Mississippi? Really?

Well, it doesn’t matter.

The fact is. Anyone can get a copy of the voter rolls.

Why do you think you get tons of candidate-related mail every election?

The Secretary of State’s office sells the voter rolls to anyone who has the cash (including political campaigns).

This is pretty much true in every state and pretty much completely electronic.

So why can’t the above states just buy the Louisiana rolls from us, and we’ll buy their rolls from them.

Anyone that can’t compare two lists with a computer, in this day and age, shouldn’t be in the Secretary of State’s office.

I find it telling that this administration, chock-full of MAGA suspicion of Deep State plots, would allow the voter rolls to be passed around like favors at a cotillion.

Oh, and that privacy thing? Gone, been gone for a long time now.
