A Huntington Woods colonial that’s on a corner — but didn’t cut any when it comes to luxury — is on the market.
Located at 25449 Sherwood Drive near 10 Mile and Scotia roads, the five-bedroom, four-bathroom home sits on a quarter-acre corner lot.
But the long list of luxurious qualities and creature comforts, including a primary bedroom with a fireplace, the sunroom, and the sundeck, make up its apex.
The asking price for the 3,808-square-foot house is $1,099,000.
Robert Weltman, an associate broker with Real Estate One in Royal Oak who listed the home with Realtor Tom Swasey, said the house is a combination of classic charm and modern flair. Built in 1937, the two-story house was renovated and expanded, he said.
It has all the hallmarks of a showplace. In addition to the previously mentioned amenities, the house has wooden floors, stylish crown molding, vaulted ceilings, skylights, a chef’s kitchen with high-end appliances and a two-person walk-in shower and a spa tub in the primary bedroom’s en suite bathroom.
Welton said the home has an expansive layout that gives people inside space and windows that let in light and provide views of the hydrangeas and Japanese maple trees around it.
After entering the front door, the foyer with space for seating leads into a living room and the dining area. The living room has a fireplace.
On the same floor, the kitchen has terra cotta tiling, skylights, Viking appliances, quartz countertops, a spacious serving island with a second sink, and custom cabinetry. It also has an eating nook with room for eight or more people.
The sunroom, with its terra cotta tiling, tin ceiling, custom wine bar, heated floor and fireplace. is on the first level and overlooks a wooden patio.
A second primary bedroom with an en suite bathroom is also on the first floor. “It’s a huge bonus,” Swasey said. “It’s perfect for out-of-town guests, offering a private retreat.”
The other bedrooms, including the primary bedroom, a study or home office, and a laundry room are on the second floor.
Welton said the primary bedroom boasts a vaulted ceiling and high-arched windows that offer a view of the moon at night and the sky during the day. Its walk-in closet also has a vaulted ceiling and a skylight.
It also offers access to the second-floor wooden sundeck outside. The deck provides a view of the property and has solar shades, and a metal spiral staircase to the patio below.
Back inside, the second laundry room with granite countertops is located in the partially finished basement.
For gearheads and car enthusiasts, the home’s attached three-car garage has an epoxy-coated floor and an integrated hydraulic car lift.
Swasey said other selling points are the house’s smart home conveniences, including switches controlled by a cellphone app, a whole-house backup generator and a charging station for electric vehicles.
“There are tons of features that this home has to offer,” the Realtor said.
