Great Atlantic Resources Corp. is pleased to announce the recent research visit conducted by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) to the Company’s South Quarry Property in south-central Newfoundland. The visit, led by post-doctoral research fellow Rhiana Henry, focused on evaluating the emerald potential of the area where Great Atlantic has confirmed beryl crystals.
Rhiana Henry, representing the GIA, visited the South Quarry Property on July 3rd to meet with Great Atlantic representatives and Art Gardiner, a well-known prospector based in Newfoundland. The purpose of the visit was to collect rock samples as part of ongoing emerald-related research. The targeted area of the visit is where the Company has previously sampled green beryl crystals for evaluation of emerald potential. Emerald gemstones are a variety of the mineral beryl.
Great Atlantic’s primary exploration focus at the South Quarry Property is tungsten. The Company has confirmed tungsten mineralization in various regions of the property, including high-grade tungsten mineralization in samples from the northern region of the property, specifically in the area of two quarries. Notably, numerous samples collected by Great Atlantic in 2015 exceeded 1% WO3, demonstrating the significant tungsten potential of the property.
The South Quarry Property spans an area of 2,550 hectares and consists of six mineral licenses. Located in south-central Newfoundland, the property benefits from excellent access with a paved road transecting it.
David Martin, a Qualified Person as defined by NI 43-101 and VP Exploration for Great Atlantic, verified the presence of beryl crystals during field work conducted in 2015 and 2024 at the South Quarry Property.
