Bolivia receives bids for enhanced oil recovery project

News

Seven groups submitted offers for the second phase of an enhanced oil recovery (EOR) program in Bolivia.

The bidders were Beicip-Franlab, DeGolyer & MacNaughton, Gesca, GLJ, Grupo Industrial de Tabasco, VYP Consulting Services and Y-Tec, information from state hydrocarbons company YPFB shows.

The winner of the 360-day contract will design a chemical EOR pilot test at an oilfield in a bid to increase the recovery factor and attenuate the decline curve.

Beicip-Franlab carried out first phase EOR studies which targeted 111 reservoirs in 21 oil fields and identified 11 candidates.

Meanwhile, O&O Tech was the sole bidder in YPFB’s call to further identify the production potential of the Aguarague Norte area, and the service provider was the top bidder to conduct a geological evaluation of the Itatiqui field.

For its part, Excelsior Construcciones y Servicios was the top bidder for building access roads and prepare the drill pads for the Tomachi-XI and Tomachi-X2 exploration wells.

And none of the proposals to operate and maintain the Yarará production area fulfilled bidding requirements.
