Boil water advisory issued for Upstate city


A water line that broke Wednesday has led to a boil water advisory in a South Carolina community.The city of Walhalla said the broken line was located n the Pickens Highway, Christophers Road area off of North Highway 11. Affected areas are Taylor Road, Mountain Springs, Springbrook, Wade Taylor, Big Brown, Cranes Crossing, Country Junction and immediate surrounding areas.Officials said the line was repaired at 9 a.m. but a boil water advisory was issued for those areas affected. People are advised to vigorously boil water for 3-5 minutes before drinking or cooking. The boil water advisory is in effect for 48 hours from the restoration of water service, officials said.
