Banyan Gold Corp. Appoints Hayley Halsall-Whitney to Board of Directors and Marc Blythe as Non-Executive Chair

Banyan Gold Corp. has recently made two significant appointments to its Board of Directors. Hayley Halsall-Whitney, a seasoned leader with over 20 years of experience in the mining industry, has joined the board as a new member. Halsall-Whitney’s expertise and knowledge in mining will contribute to the board’s skills as Banyan continues to advance its AurMac, Nitra, and Hyland Projects. Additionally, Marc Blythe, an existing independent Director, has been appointed as the non-executive Chair of the Board.

Halsall-Whitney brings a wealth of experience to Banyan Gold Corp., having worked for Glencore, a globally diversified multinational mining company, for 13 years. During her tenure, she achieved operational performance excellence and zero harm goals. She has also held key positions at Goldcorp, North American Palladium, and Wesdome, where she led the Eagle River Gold Mine to record production and played a significant role in their 43-101 report.

Blythe, who has been on the Banyan board since February 2022, has over 30 years of experience in the mining sector. As a non-executive Chair, he will ensure a focus on adding value for shareholders while upholding high standards of corporate governance. Blythe expressed his enthusiasm for the opportunity to protect the interests of shareholders, First Nations, and Yukoners as the AurMac Gold Project progresses.

In addition to these appointments, Banyan Gold Corp. provided an operational update. Forest fires in the Yukon have impacted the region, including Banyan’s operations. The company has taken proactive measures to protect its site infrastructure and has modified its 2024 program to support the community in dealing with wildfires. Banyan remains committed to seeking collaborative solutions and is sympathetic to the concerns of the First Nation of Na-Cho Nyäk Dun.

Despite the challenges posed by the wildfires, Banyan has made significant progress in its drilling and exploration activities. With 6,300 meters drilled to date and three drills currently on site, the company plans to complete its planned 20,000-meter program by November 2024. Additional drilling and technical work are also funded for 2025.

Banyan Gold Corp. is set to participate in several upcoming events, including the Precious Metals Summit Beaver Creek, Denver Gold Forum Americas, and GCFF Conference in Vancouver. These events provide opportunities for the company to showcase its projects and engage with industry stakeholders.

Banyan’s primary asset, the AurMac Project, located in Canada’s Yukon Territory, holds an inferred Mineral Resource Estimate of 7.0 million ounces of gold. The project benefits from its proximity to existing infrastructure, including a powerline and cell phone coverage. The company also holds the Hyland Gold Project, which represents a sediment-hosted, structurally controlled, intrusion-related gold deposit.

With the recent appointments and ongoing progress in its projects, Banyan Gold Corp. is well-positioned to continue advancing and realizing the full value potential of its mining assets.
