Earnest Barnette, age 68, of Keokee, VA went to be with the Lord Thursday morning (January 11, 2024) after a lengthy illness while at the Lee County Community Hospital. He was born April 27, 1955 a son of the late Bramell and Reba Robbins Barnette. He was a life long resident of Lee County, VA and was of the Baptist faith. He spent all of his working years mining in area coal mines.
He is also preceded in death by a sister: Jackie Barnette
He is survived by 3 sons: Jonathon Barnette, Ernest Dwayne Barnette (Tammy) and James J. Barnette (Lora)
9 grandchildren
Brothers: David Barnette (Ruth), Archie Barnette (Pam) and Jimmy Barnette (Reenie)
Sisters: Mildred Sparks Barnette, Helen Malone (Dave), Hilda Rutherford (Jim), Nancy Scott (Terry) and Lisa Roberts (Pete)
Several nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members along with many many friends also survive.
In keeping with his wishes, his body will be cremated and no services are planned at this time.
