Hampton U’s Jadakis Bonds, former Catholic High star Khalan Laborn sign as

Hampton University wide receiver Jadakis Bonds, who finished his college career with school records for receptions and touchdowns, was undrafted but will pursue an NFL career with the San Francisco 49ers.

Bonds signed with San Francisco as an undrafted rookie free agent, according to multiple reports.

Bonds, a 6-foot-4 and 205-pounder from Greenville, North Carolina, finished his Hampton U career with 180 catches and 34 touchdowns — both school records — and 2,731 receiving yards.

Bonds was bidding to become HU’s first NFL draft pick since defensive tackle Kenrick Ellis, a third-round selection in 2011.

Marshall running back Khalan Laborn, a graduate of Catholic High in Virginia Beach, also signed with the 49ers as an undrafted rookie free agent.

Among the other undrafted rookies to sign, according to various sources:

  • Old Dominion defensive end Marcus Haynes with the Denver Broncos.

  • Virginia State running back Darius Hagans, a Grassfield High graduate, with the Indianapolis Colts.

  • Virginia defensive back Anthony Johnson with the New Orleans Saints and UVA receiver Keytaon Thompson with the Detroit Lions.

  • Virginia Tech offensive lineman Silas Dzansi with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

  • James Madison quarterback Todd Centeio with the Kansas City Chiefs.

  • East Carolina quarterback Holton Ahlers with the Seattle Seahawks.

  • East Carolina running back Keaton Mitchell with the Baltimore Ravens.
