Comcast Steps Up to Support California Park Fire Relief Efforts

Comcast, a global media and technology company, is providing technology, financial, and community support to assist those affected by the devastating Park Fire in California. As the fire continues to be one of the largest in the state’s history, Comcast is stepping in to offer aid in three significant ways.

Firstly, Comcast is providing Internet and TV services at the Local Assistance Center (LAC) in Chico. This center will serve as a crucial resource for impacted residents, offering access to government services and resources necessary for recovery and rebuilding. The Chico LAC will be open for two weeks, Monday through Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Additionally, Comcast is opening up its network of 1,100 public Xfinity WiFi hotspots in Butte and Tehama Counties. This initiative aims to ensure that residents and emergency personnel can stay connected during this challenging time. The WiFi hotspots are now available and free for anyone to use, including non-Xfinity customers.

Furthermore, Comcast is making a generous donation of $70,000 in cash and in-kind contributions to support fire relief efforts. These funds will be directed towards local organizations working tirelessly to aid those impacted by the Park Fire and assist in future relief endeavors.

To connect to the Xfinity WiFi hotspots, users can visit Xfinity.com/wifi for a map of available locations. By selecting the ‘xfinitywifi’ network and launching a browser, users will be prompted to sign in, with options available for both Xfinity customers and non-customers. Xfinity Internet customers can sign in with their account credentials and will be automatically connected to Xfinity WiFi hotspots in their range in the future. Non-Xfinity Internet subscribers can also connect by agreeing to the Terms and Conditions.

Comcast is urging customers to take proactive measures to stay prepared and connected during emergencies. By downloading Comcast’s free mobile apps, customers can access important information and receive text alerts about service interruptions or restoration tips. Additionally, Comcast Business customers can utilize the Comcast Business App to enable features such as Be Anywhere, Call Forwarding, and battery backup checks.

Comcast’s commitment to supporting the California Park Fire relief efforts demonstrates their dedication to the communities they serve. Through their technology, financial contributions, and community support, Comcast is making a positive impact during this challenging time.
