United Lithium Corp. is excited to announce the expansion of its 2024 Exploration Program in Finland. The program, which began in early June, is being conducted at five of the company’s 100% owned properties in highly prospective geological terrains. These properties cover a large land package of over 105,000 hectares and have the potential to host lithium-bearing pegmatite.
The goal of the 2024 Program is to identify undiscovered lithium-cesium-tantalum (LCT) pegmatites and define targets for potential drilling activities in the future. The field work, being carried out by a team of 8 geologists, is expected to continue until the beginning of September.
United Lithium’s President and CEO, Scott Eldridge, expressed excitement about the summer’s field programs, stating that the company’s expanded land package now represents one of the largest lithium portfolios in Finland. He emphasized that Finland’s geology is highly conducive to hosting additional lithium deposits, and the company’s exploration efforts aim to contribute to the growing demand for lithium in the European Union’s electric vehicle sector.
The 2024 Program includes systematic exploration, mapping, and sampling of LCT-pegmatites across the Kietyonmaki Project, as well as the Kannus, Kova, Kast, and Salkola property reservations. The Kietyonmaki Project, located within the Hame belt, has already yielded significant lithium intersections, including high-grade lithium oxide results.
The Kannus property, situated directly north of the Keliber lithium deposit, is covered by Paleoproterozoic sediments and hosts the Jarvi-Pohjanmaa Lithium Metallogenic Belt. The Kova property, located on the northern margin of the Pirkanmaa migmatite belt, has a prospective geological setting with the presence of late-orogenic LCT type complex pegmatites. The Salkola property, located southeast of the Main Dyke at Kietyonmaki, is similar geologically to the Kietyonmaki area and is prospective for identifying new LCT pegmatites. The Kast property, adjacent to the Rosendal tantalum deposit, is located in the Kemio metallogenic area region and has the potential for mixed rare-element pegmatites.
United Lithium is also providing an update on its 2023 Drill Program at the Bergby Project in Sweden. The Project, comprising ten exploration licenses, has confirmed the presence of spodumene-bearing pegmatites and has the potential for further discovery.
The company is committed to maintaining high-quality assurance and control standards throughout its exploration activities. Core drilling is being undertaken by Ludvika Borr Teknik AB, and all drill core samples are logged and sampled in a secure facility. The samples are then sent to ALS Ltd. facilities for analysis.
United Lithium’s exploration efforts in Finland and Sweden demonstrate its dedication to meeting the global demand for lithium. With its expanded land package and ongoing exploration programs, the company is well-positioned to contribute to the growth of the electric vehicle sector and the development of sustainable energy solutions.
