TMX Group Reports Strong Financing Activity on Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange in June 2024
TMX Group has announced its robust financing activity on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) and TSX Venture Exchange (TSXV) for June 2024. The month witnessed significant growth in new issuers and total financings raised, highlighting the continued strength of these exchanges.
On TSX, 12 new issuers were welcomed in June 2024, showcasing a diverse range of investment opportunities. This figure slightly decreased from the previous month’s 16 new issuers but marked an improvement from the eight issuers in June 2023. Among the new listings, 11 were exchange-traded funds (ETFs), while one was a closed-end fund. The total number of financings in June 2024 reached 56, a significant increase from the 37 in the previous month and the 32 in June 2023. Moreover, the total financings raised in June 2024 saw a remarkable 110% surge compared to the previous month and a 65% increase compared to June 2023.
TSXV also experienced positive growth, welcoming five new issuers in June 2024. This number slightly increased from the three issuers in the previous month and remained consistent with the five issuers in June 2023. The new listings on TSXV included a Capital Pool Company and four mining companies, showcasing the diverse range of industries represented on the exchange. Although the total financings raised in June 2024 increased by 11% compared to the previous month, there was a slight 8% decline compared to June 2023. Despite this, the number of financings in June 2024 remained healthy at 94, although it decreased from the 105 in the previous month and the 115 in June 2023.
