News Flash • Hutto Introduces David Amsler as Director of St

The City of Hutto is pleased to announce David Amsler as the Director of Strategic Operations. David’s transition from a successful sales career in Dallas to public administration is a testament to his passion for public service. After deciding to switch careers, he quickly earned his master’s in public administration from the University of Texas at Dallas. At the City of Mesquite, he excelled and significantly contributed to the City Manager’s Office.

Amsler also cultivated an understanding of internal services, citywide initiatives, city management, and software implementation as he trained in the growing cities of Celina and Kyle. He filled in as city secretary, wrote new policies, conducted employee training, and collaborated with departments by assisting in crucial roles.

Since joining The City of Hutto in November of 2022 as Assistant to the City Manager, Amsler has made considerable contributions to every department. David’s expertise in cross-department planning has been instrumental in managing Hutto’s growth. He has leveraged his skills to enhance efficiency, implement policies that promote accountability, and develop training programs that nurture servant leaders.

In his new role, Amsler will oversee several departments, including the City Secretary’s Office, Communications, Emergency Management, and Information Technology. He will continue to hone operations for efficiency, launch initiatives that align with the city’s long-term mission, and oversee the development and implementation of the Strategic Plan for stability and growth.

The City Manager will formally recognize Amsler’s promotion during the Hutto City Council meeting at 7 pm Thursday, June 6.
