Russia’s Inter RAO supplies electricity to cryptocurrency mining farm in Kyrgyzstan – Energy Minister
AKIPRESS.COM – Russia’s Inter RAO supplies electricity to cryptocurrency mining farm in Kyrgyzstan through Kazakhstan, Minister of Energy Talaibek Ibraev told a briefing.
“We have only one cryptocurrency mining farm working, which consumes around 30 MW of electricity,” he said.
“The mining farm gets electricity from Russia’s Inter RAO in transit through Kazakhstan,” the Minister of Energy explained.
The Energy Minister said there is agreement with Kazakhstan on supply of electricity for accumulation of water in the Toktogul dam.
“We have agreement with Kazakhstan, between Electric Stations JSC and Kazakhstan Electricity Grid Operating Company on import of electricity in order to keep water in the Toktogul reservoi,” Minister Ibraev said.
