NEW ORLEANS — Entergy said that nearly 8,000 buildings in the Seventh Ward and Bywater lost power after someone used a chainsaw to knock down a power pole.
Entergy Tweeted about the outage around 7:15 a.m. on Monday that power was out to nearly 8,000 Entergy customers.
Entergy initially said power could be restored by 9:30 a.m. but power was fully restored just before 10:30 a.m.
The Entergy outage map showed the area of outage scattered in areas in both the Seventh Ward and the Bywater.
“Entergy is aware of an outage currently impacting customers in the 7th Ward and Bywater neighborhoods. This was caused by a customer cutting into a service pole with a chainsaw. Our crews are working as quickly and safely as possible to restore service.”
